Wrinkle Creams Do Work, Have Not Any Doubts About That

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009
by Jen Hopkins

Attractiveness has always been a main concern of humans, especially females. Aging causes changes to an individual’s appearance, and many women seek out products to help counteract this process. For ages, women have been seeking out and using wrinkle creams effectively, showing that these formulations do indeed work.

It is true that many people often doubt whether the wrinkle creams really work. Please remember that many wrinkle cream manufacturing companies are spending several millions of dollars every year for research and development to improve the quality of these creams still further.

The recent studies have revealed that most of the ingredients used in wrinkle creams are capable of removing wrinkles. There are thousands of wrinkle creams out there in the market. If these creams donat work there wonat be so many creams in the market, is it not? However it is better to identify the best wrinkle cream from the market to get the best results.

Which cream is the best? To find the answer, it’s important to understand how wrinkles are formed. As a person ages, essential skin components such as Elastin and collagen begin to decrease. This is process can also be exacerbated by extensive sun exposure. The end result is fine lines and deeper wrinkles that begin to appear on the skin. Therefore, the best wrinkle cream will address the lack of Elastin and Collagen in your cells.

Each ingredient that is included in the cream needs to be balanced in the correct proportions. It is essential to create a high quality product. If the components are unbalanced, not only may the user experience little to no results, they can even have unwanted reactions to the cream.

As one ages, or if they have excess body fat, thin lines can begin to appear on the skin. This is mainly due to skin loosing its elastic qualities. By finding the best quality wrinkle cream avaialble, these fine lines can be effectively removed. An essential component for an effective product is a high quality base, which is the binder that holds together all of the active ingredients in a product. The best product will have balanced ingredients that are suspended in a good base.

A very common type of wrinkle that appears as one grows older consists of fine lines at the outer corners of your eyes. The wrinkles often resemble the shape of a crow’s foot, and therefore are typically called crow’s feet wrinkles. This type of wrinkle can be effectively removed with a good quality wrinkle cream. It is important to research the available products in order to decide which ones will be the most effective for your wrinkles.

Anti-aging products can have a profound effect on your appearance. The selection of products currently available is very extensive, so remember to do some research at home before buying a new product. Find a cream that has healthy ingredients that are correctly mixed with a high quality base. In the end, you won’t need to worry any longer about wrinkles, as they can be quickly and effectively removed, providing you with a healthy, youthful look.

Makeup Tips for the Cold Weather Season

Sunday, January 4th, 2009
by Makeup Girl

Have you ever noticed how much more difficult it is to apply your mascara and eyeliner when the winter chill starts to set in? Your mascara might be just a little stiffer coming out of the tube which makes a clean application near impossible. Or perhaps your eyeliner is much harder than usual and doesn’t even seem to leave any color on your eye lid. It’s because the cold of winter can pose a few problems with makeup application, especially when it comes to eye makeup. I have a few makeup tips that I use on a regular basis that I hope will make your life a little easier.

The key to a smooth eyeliner application is to have it be the right temperature. It is so frustrating when eyeliner is too cold and hard and doesn’t seem to want to go on. The exciting thing is that each of us has a secret weapon; our bodies. Your body heat has just the right effect on your eye makeup to get it to the perfect temperature without over warming it. If you just stick your eyeliner right next to your hip letting the elastic on your pants hold it to your body, after a few minutes, it will be ready. I always do my hair while my eye liner warms up.

This same tip is great for your mascara. When it’s too cold, mascara is often more difficult to deal with than eyeliner. When it’s cold, your lashes end up looking clumped together and stiff. Using your body heat works great to avoid letting your mascara ruin your makeup look. I’ve found that it takes a little bit longer to warm up than the eyeliner, so you’ll want to give it a few extra minutes. You’ll find that the time is worth it when your mascara then goes on smoothly.

I never apply mascara without curling my lashes first. With that in mind, I have one final tip to help your lashes look their best. To get the best curl from your lashes, you can warm up your eyelash curler. Think about it, you use a warm curling iron to curl your hair, why wouldn’t your eyelashes curl better if the eyelash curler were warm. I will use my body heat to help warm my eye lash curler.

Sometimes, when I am in a time crunch, I use my blow dryer on low heat just for a few seconds. If you use your blow dryer to warm up your lash curler, make sure you test it first with your finger to make sure it’s not too hot since your eye is such a sensitive area. Hopefully, with these tips, the cold of winter won’t make a difference; you’ll still look your best.

How To Choose The Best Wrinkle Cream

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009
by Jen Hopkins

In general, all people want to look attractive. But unfortunately, when you age, you get wrinkles that affect your appearance largely. Therefore many people especially women have been using wrinkle creams for many centuries to remove the wrinkles. Nowadays, there are thousands of creams available in the market. How to identify a quality wrinkle cream out of them?

A good quality cream has high quality ingredients in it. Moreover, these quality ingredients are mixed in a definite proportion. If the ingredients are not mixed in correct proportion then the user may get side effects. Some users may get rashes. What are the factors that cause wrinkles on your skin? A good quality cream will never cause any side effects at all.

There are several factors that can contribute to the formation of wrinkles. One of the biggest is overexposure to the sunas ultraviolet rays, either from sunbathing, spending a lot of time outdoors or going to the tanning salon. The amount of elastin and collagen in the skin naturally decreases with time, which is another major cause of wrinkles. You may also develop wrinkles as a result of gaining weight quickly.

Since one cause of wrinkles is the reduction of elastin and collagen in the skin, it makes sense that products that increase the amount of these substances also reduce the appearance of wrinkles. When you are looking for a good quality wrinkle cream, be sure to select a cream that increases elastin and collagen.

A good quality cream will contain the vital ingredient vitamin E. Vitamin E deficiency causes wrinkles on your skin. When you become old, the vitamin E content in your body reduces and hence you will get wrinkles. A good quality cream may not be cheap. Nevertheless, its quality would undoubtedly justify the price.

A high quality wrinkle cream may require a bit of an investment on your part. The best wrinkle creams are usually not cheap. Youall need to decide whether it is worth it to you to spend the amount of money required to make your wrinkles fade or disappear. Only you can decide how much it is worth to you to have smoother, younger-looking skin.

Vitamin A is another important ingredient to look for when purchasing wrinkle cream. This nutrient is an antioxidant that helps smooth and soften the skin. Vitamin A can make the skin look healthier. When selecting a wrinkle cream, you should do plenty of research. Search the internet for customer reviews. Products that have worked well for other people will probably work for you as well.

Researching a number of different products is a good way to find the best possible choice. If you look at the ingredients of several products, you can narrow down the choices. Then pay attention to what people are saying about the product before you make your final decision. If you purchase a wrinkle cream with high quality ingredients that is getting good reviews from actual customers, you are well on your way to having smoother, more beautiful skin.

All About Laser Liposuction

Friday, January 2nd, 2009
by Victoria Rowde

Just recently, the FDA approved the latest technology called laser liposuction as a method for removing fat in specific areas of the body. It seems that people no longer need to stick to the option of traditional liposuction. There is however, still a lot that we need to know about laser liposuction.

What Laser Liposuction Is

Laser liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure that causes little bruising or tissue trauma in patients. In this procedure, a very small incision is made into which a 1mm cannula is then inserted. The laser tip of the instrument then comes into contact with the fats, heats the fats up and breaks them down. The melted fat can then be removed from the body immediately.

The fats that are not removed from the body are simply flushed out through our lymphatic system. Laser intensity is low and can be adjusted as needed. A local anesthetic is all that is needed for laser liposuction.

What Is It For?

Not everyone is built for laser liposuction, though. Although some may claim that laser liposuction can work wonders on all parts of your body, it can only really work on limited areas. Only smaller areas like the face, neck and arms can be subjected to this laser treatment.

Similar to traditional liposuction, laser liposuction is a form of body sculpting. It is therefore not a solution for obesity and cannot be used for weight loss. The appropriate candidates for this new technology are people who are fairly healthy and who have only small fat deposits.

Advantages

Because this procedure is less invasive compared to other body sculpting procedure, there is only minimal bruising, scarring, tissue damage and pain. The incision is said to be so small that a patient no longer needs to be stitched up. This means that the rate of recovery is faster. Patients can get back on their feet in a day or two.

Laser liposuction also promotes the production of collagen as well as tightens the skin after melting body fats. This is a great improvement compared to traditional liposuction. In traditional liposuction, some patients end up looking worse because of a lack of ideal skin elasticity. Some doctors may use laser liposuction after sessions of traditional liposuction to help tighten the skin.

Risks

Not all areas of the body can be subjected to laser liposuction. Traditional liposuction may still be needed for wider body areas such as the hips and thighs. It is also still a very young piece of technology. Experts agree that more studies need to be conducted to determine the possible negative side effects of this procedure.

A question that especially deserves more attention is the possible side effects of more fat fluid being retained in the body. Of course, the FDA would not approve something that could be potentially dangerous. It is a fact though that the full long term side effects of the procedure cannot be determined yet until it has been in use for quite some time. Be on the safe side by asking your doctor to extensively discuss the procedure with you.

The Best Way to Wash Your Hair for Really Clean Hair

Sunday, December 28th, 2008
by Jennifer Summers

Not many are aware of this but there is a right and a wrong to wash your hair. When you do wash your hair properly, you will notice a much better difference in the health and shine of your hair. It is very likely that you have washing your hair incorrectly and as a result you’re not getting the really clean and healthy looking hair that we are all capable of having.

Step 1. - Start. Begin by brushing your hair well before you climb into the shower, this will help to loosen dirt, reduce hair breakage and reduce the amount of hair being caught in your plug hole. When you have finished giving your hair a good brush it’s time to give your hair a good soaking using warm (not hot) water. For washing your hair properly, it is important that you get all of your hair completely wet, as washing dry hair is difficult.

Step 2. - Applying shampoo. A common mistake that many people make when washing their hair is the amount of shampoo they use. Often people will just add a big dollop to the palm of their hand and then start rubbing it in. This is not the way to do it. If you are using the very highest quality hair care products (which is always recommended) you only need use a small amount as professional hair products are usually more concentrated.

Step 3. - The proper way to wash your hair. There two biggest errors people usually make in washing their hair are: 1). Scrubbing/massaging too hard 2). Rinsing off shampoo too quickly. After adding the shampoo, the best way to wash your hair is too rub or massage your scalp and hair gently. Vigorous scrubbing can be bad for you scalp and does clean hair any better. When you have finished lightly massaging your hair for a short period, the shampoo can be left in for up to 5 minutes for a thorough clean.

Step 4. - Rinse and Repeat. Now that your hair has had a good shampooing, it’s time to get all of that dirt, grime and shampoo lather out of your hair. When you come to rinse your hair, it’s important to give your hair a really good rinsing. While it may look like all of the shampoo has been rinsed out, there can still be plenty of product left in your hair. Once you have rinsed, there is absolutely no harm in washing your hair a second time. When your hair squeaks, you know it’s clean.

Properly washing your hair will make a difference to how your hair looks, and regular proper washing will transform the look and feel of your hair after a period of time. Following the simple steps given above will guarantee great looking clean hair. An extra tip for even better looking hair is to consider using professional salon products on your hair. They usually contain the best ingredients for cleansing hair and are concentrated so you use less and save money.

The Koi is also able to fight the current of the water and swim upstream. This can be interpreted in two ways:

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008
by Markus Katsuo

The Koi is strong enough to swim against the current up stream this can mean two things:

The Koi fish is pure will - The act of swimming upstream shows the will of the koi and that the current is no challenge for the resistance that it feels as it swims upstream. Will could also be interpreted as desire , a great master once said that a strong wish was the most powerful force in the universe. So the Koi tattoo can be a symbol of our strength and will in the world and spirit to move forward no matter what.

Strength in time of adversity - Koi fish also symbolizes the ability to go forward no matter what the obstacle is. The desire to swim on even if we are being swept along backwards.

In the short story Koi-san by Mukoda Kuniko. it is said that the koi means love and friendship.

varieties of koi fish include:Traditional Japanese Tattoos

Kohaku - a red pattern and white-skinned Koi

Taisho Sanshoku (Sanke) - a white-skinned Koi with a red and black pattern

Showa Sanshoku (Showa) - a black-skinned Koi with a red and white pattern

Tancho Showa, Tancho Sanke, or even Tancho Goshiki

Asagi - Koi with blue scales on its top and red scales on its underside

Shusui - Asagi the partially scaled version

Bekko -black pattern with red, white, or yellow-skinned Koi

Is Bikini Waxing The Hair Removal System That’s Right For Me?

Monday, December 22nd, 2008
by Charlotte Field

Estheticians agree that personal waxing is fast becoming the most sought-after method of any hair removal system. And why not? Other hair removal systems can be expensive, ineffective, and complicated with possible dangerous side effects. If you have not experienced personal body waxing, and think you may want to give it a try, you’ll have a few questions to ask before you embark on a commitment like this. The worst part of beginning a waxing routine is not knowing what to expect. I have put together a brief question and answer forum with the most commonly asked questions listed below. The answers apply to all parts of the body, although some may be a bit more sensitive than others.

Q. Do I have to let my hair grow out a little so the wax can work?

For the best results, we normally like about a 2 to 3 weeks of hair growth or approximately 1/4″. I know this may be uncomfortable, but the waxing process depends on enough hair to attach to in order to see good results.

Q. Do I need to do anything in order to prepare for my first body waxing?

About 2 to 3 days before your waxing appointment, you need to keep in mind two things. Stay out of the sun and exfoliate. Do not do any sunbathing or have any sun exposure for 48 hours before your appointment. Also, two or three days before your scheduled waxing, you need to gently scrub the area to be waxed with an exfoliator. Be sure it’s a mild exfoliator and you do not scrub too much. Then, on the day of the waxing, just cleanse your body as usual, without exfoliating, and rinse thoroughly, avoiding body products like lotions, deodorant, perfume, powders, and oils. These products must be avoided as they can cause discomfort and irritation to the skin during or after the waxing process.

Q. Will the waxing process be painful?

Honestly, the actual waxing process may cause a bit of discomfort or may sting a bit. People all have levels of pain that they can handle. Keep in mind that the first waxing will be the most uncomfortable as there is more hair to remove. Each time you visit your esthetician for the next waxing in your schedule, you will experience less discomfort. It’s hard to judge how much pain or discomfort is involved, but there wouldn’t be so many women choosing this method of hair removal if it was unbearable. One thing to know is that your skin is most sensitive during your period, so avoid scheduling a waxing during your period, or, for that matter, any time your skin is under any stress.

Q. Will I have to take my panties off when I get a bikini wax?

If you are not comfortable removing your underwear, you certainly may leave them on. Your esthetician is a professional and should make sure you are comfortable at all times and that you understand the procedure. Discuss your unease, if any, before your waxing procedure begins. For a regular bikini wax you will be provided with disposable underwear to wear during the service which makes it easier for the esthetician. Your esthetician should also discuss with you where you would like your bikini line to fall. Of course, if at any time you do not feel at ease with your esthetician, be sure to discuss your unease. However, if the unease continues you will want to find an esthetician that makes you feel more comfortable with your waxing experience.

Q. What about post-waxing skin care?

After each waxing appointment, give your skin a break. Stay out of the sun for at least 24 hours and do not climb into a tanning bed for at least 48 hours or more. Your skin is a bit stressed and will not like any alcohol based products, perfumes, lotions, powders, or oils. As a matter of fact, your skin will let you know in no uncertain terms that it wishes to be babied a little. Most any product you normally put on your skin will burn if you try to use it on your freshly waxed skin, so avoid these products for about a day or two.

Q. How soon after waxing will I start to see the hair poking through again?

It all depends on how fast your hair grows and if you are just starting your waxing routine. Some people may not be able to go longer than 2 weeks, while others can go as long as 6 weeks. However, the longer you have been on a regular waxing schedule, the longer each waxing will last. Hair grows in cycles which means it’s appearing at different intervals. Each time you wax, you are only removing the hair that’s made an appearance thus far; there are more hairs waiting underneath that will show up in the next few days. Because of that, it may take up to 3 waxing sessions to have all your hair growing in different intervals finally removed. So, your legs will probably not be smooth for about 3 waxing appointments. After that, you’ll notice that you will be able to go longer between waxings without seeing hair.

So, is waxing the answer for you? You may not be sold yet, but ask yourself the next time you have to wear jeans instead of shorts or a skirt if you wouldn’t be a little more relaxed knowing that you don’t have to regret not shaving your legs… again. See if, when you’re at the beach or pool, it wouldn’t be a whole lot nicer to concentrate on the sun and fun without tucking the stray hairs back into your swimsuit bottom, hoping no one sees you. If you can rid yourself of your razor, and all the problems they cause, would you consider waxing? I think it’s time to give your esthetician a call and make an appointment to chat a bit about the benefits of waxing.

How Much Does Liposuction Costs?

Saturday, December 20th, 2008
by Victoria Rowde

Liposuction costs is one primary concern for people thinking about getting a liposuction. You should seriously consider your finances first if you are intent on undergoing liposuction.

Liposuction Cost

In reality it is not very easy to come up with an exact estimate of liposuction costs because the figures will vary depending on certain circumstances and factors. On the average, people spend around $2,500 for liposuction. A reasonable price however may be anywhere from $1,500-$8,000. It has not been unheard of however to have procedures that cost as much as $12,000-20,000.

Different parts of the body, their sizes as well as the volume of fat on these areas also affect the liposuction costs. Usually, the upper abdomen and the breasts are the most costly parts for liposuction. The lower abdomen, thighs, calves and arms may fetch lower prices. Some surgeons may also charge higher fees for sensitive areas like the face.

Men are charged higher fees than women. This is because the men’s biological structures have generally tougher, more fibrous fats. They also have a wider body area than females.

The skill and qualifications of the liposuction surgeon are also factors that contribute to liposuction cost. The more experienced, established, accredited and reputable the doctor, the higher the fee. A different fee may also be requested for the anesthesiologist or other surgeon assistants. A doctor may choose to offer a package deal for the entire procedure especially if you have to return for succeeding sessions.

Liposuction costs would also depend on the type of equipment, type of procedure, type of anesthesia, kind of facility, lab tests and compression garments.

About the Cost

Knowing the approximate liposuction costs would tell you just how feasible the procedure is for you as far as finances is concerned. Options for scouting liposuction costs may even include online price tables and inquiring about the cost directly from your doctor. A good idea would be to list down all the possible factors that may affect price and ask your doctor how much he charges for each. Be careful. Not all doctors may be able to give you the exact pricing details and you may just be stuck with an unmentioned item later. Be detailed in inquiring about liposuction costs.

Packages and Bargains

Price packages can be expected from doctors for various reasons. However, you should be suspicious if the price plunges too low from the average cost. Cheap prices most often reflect the quality of service that your doctor is also willing to perform. If you are intent on having the procedure then be prepared to spend. Your safety and health is not something you should bargain over.

Insurance

Liposuction is not covered by your health insurance so be prepared to take the risk. Only medical surgery or procedures for medical conditions are covered by insurance. Some insurance policies however may allow the coverage of liposuction if it is necessary for a known medical condition.

Fade Stretch Marks: Is It Possible?

Thursday, December 18th, 2008
by Sapphire Rylee

Is there a method to fade stretch marks? A resounding yes! Make stretch marks disappear? Unfortunately this is still a no. Despite the many advances in skin care technology, no treatment has yet successfully made these often than not embarrassing stripes totally disappear. However, there are now many available treatments to make stretch marks appear less conspicuous and ease associated signs (such as skin dryness) that may arise with having these marks.

Basic Facts About Your Skin and Stretch Marks

Causes

Our skin is generally a very elastic organ able to spring back to its original state. However, there are instances when the skin becomes too overstretched damaging the epidermis. The epidermal layer is responsible for secreting collagen and elastic fibers, two substances that are give skin its elasticity. Below are common causes of stretch marks:

- Drastic Weight Changes - When one rapidly gains weight, the skin is not given adequate time to adjust to the added mass, thus, the skin becomes overstretched. These stretch marks become more evident when one then loses the weight as they now have more texture. - Pregnancy. Common sense tells us that stretch marks occur in the abdominal region as the body accommodates the growing child. - Growth spurts. Puberty may cause certain individuals to experience rapid growth in height and muscles. - Bulking of muscles. Stretch marks associated with athletes in particular bodybuilders.

Appearance

- Color - Initially stretch marks are seen as red to pinkish to purple in color that eventually become a more permanent silvery-white - Shape - crooked bands or lines or stripes that vary in length and width appearing mostly as wavelike streaks - Texture - can be flat, depressed, ridged/bumpy, or glossy

Associated Symptoms

- Dryness - Itchiness - Thickening or raised skin - Pain - Tenderness

Common Location

Generally, stretch marks are seen in areas of the body where weight gain is most evident namely:

- Abdomen - Thighs - Hips - Breast - Upper arms and axillary area

Treatment

Cosmetic

- Laser therapy and chemical peels - work by removing the scarred topmost layer of the skin allowing newer and healthier skin to emerge using laser or chemicals that are acidic in nature - Microdermabrasion - exfoliates the topmost layer of the skin using very small crystals - Skin removal - usually done to those people who have loss dramatic weight resulting to excess skin Nonsurgical Intervention - Topical medications - include lotions and creams that are massaged into the skin. Most of these topical creams share similar ingredients such as vitamins A and E. Tretinoin-based cream is said to be effective in fading stretch creams. Keep in mind that since topical medications are not as aggressive as surgical ones more time is required for results to show. An added perk to topical treatments is the alleviation of other symptoms (such as creams give added moisture to dry skin). - Lifestyle improvement - healthy and clean living is recommended to keep one’s weight stable and in check. A balanced diet will provide one sufficient nutrients essential for healthy skin.
